Lexi: Raise your glass and give a toast to a woman who lives beside Oregon wine country! Welcome Darcy Burke!
Darcy: Elizabeth I. Too dead? Emma Thompson is one of my favorite actresses (and she’s a great writer, too!) and I’m still a sucker for Hugh Grant. Ugh, don’t get me started on all the hot British guys! Clive Owen, Henry Cavill, Daniel Craig, oops, too late.
Lexi: The British accent never hurts; pretty much melts me into a little puddle even if I am simply reading about a character with an accent. Have you always wanted to write historicals set in England?
Darcy: Totally agree on the accent. England is my preferred setting. I’m even writing a contemporary paranormal set there—I can’t leave it alone! I’ve thought of writing a Revolutionary War trilogy set in America, but I don’t know when I’ll ever get to it.
Darcy: It’s interesting because that’s all I ever used to read. Now, I read a variety of romance and other genres (mostly YA, which isn’t really a “genre” per se, but the industry sort of defines it that way). I have a hard time reading historicals, especially Regency-set ones, while I'm in the middle of writing one.
Lexi: You are fairly new to the historical romance scene. What has surprised you the most upon entering the world of being a published author?
Lexi: Congrats on your hot streak this year, three books and it’s only July! Thanks for stopping by. We hope to see some more releases from you soon!
Darcy: Thank you so much for having me! I hope to have a novella out in the early fall, so stay tuned!

Quintessential debutante Lady Philippa Latham is determined to avoid scandal at all costs so that she may marry well. When her mother’s outrageous behavior threatens their family’s reputation, Philippa unwittingly follows her to a party no unmarried Society girl would risk attending. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Philippa is “rescued” from disaster by England’s most notorious scoundrel, which sets them both on a path to public and personal ruin.Lord Ambrose Sevrin is infamous for ruining his brother’s fiancé and refusing to marry her. Content to remain among the fringe of the upper ten thousand, he is an intriguing enigma to London’s elite. Philippa thinks she’s met the true Ambrose—a gentleman who would fight to defend her and help her secure a husband before it’s too late. But he can’t be that husband, even for her. He won’t tolerate redemption—or love—for his crimes are far worse than anyone can imagine.
