Mythological Romance: Warriors of Poseidon by Alyssa Day (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Hello lovelies and welcome to our last post for a Mythological Romance event! The fantabulous Alyssa Day is joining today with a fun post and exciting giveaway. Big thanks to Alyssa for taking the time to stop by because I know she is super busy right now! Enjoy!

Thanks for inviting me to guest blog -- and I'm sorry for the confusion regarding dates.  I'm a single mom with no furniture/office, just moved home from Japan, while my husband Navy Guy finishes up his tour there (update: my "everything I own that didn't fit in 6 suitcases" is finally arriving today! Yay!)

PoseidonMythology. Wow.  Even saying the word conjures up a world of dreams, adventure, and imagination--everything I love writing about!  I've always wanted to discover a lost civilization, and Atlantis was my obsession.  I said once that I wondered why so many explorers and dreamers over the years have been obsessed with lost civilizations.

Is it the possibility of the riches and glory of long-buried treasure – King Solomon’s mines, the fabled treasure of the Knights Templar, any Egyptian tomb breathlessly opened by an archaeologist?  Is it the voyeuristic appeal of peeking into a community long-dead, long-gone, unknown to anybody alive today?  Or is it both of those things and more:  the idea of, to borrow a phrase, truly going where no one has gone before – to walk streets that haven’t been walked in thousands of years?

For me, it was the thrill of adventure and discovery! My breath catches and my heart pounds at the idea of seeing sights no person has seen for thousands of years.  When I was a child living in Turkey, we visited Ephesus, and even at 12 years old, my brain was feverishly working overtime, imagining the lives of the people who had trod those mosaic paths, so very long ago.

And if there can be hunky Atlantean warriors walking around? Well, so much the better!!

Let's have fun with this topic:  Please tell me in the comments which lost civilization YOU would like to discover, and why, and the lovely and gracious Crystal will choose two commenters to win an autographed copy (your choice) of one of my warriors books in either print or audiobook format.

And please visit me at my website http://www.alyssaday.com for excerpts, extras, and more -- including the MTV-style music video we filmed of an original song based on my Warriors novels!!  (I know everyone is dying for Alaric's book, and you can see an excerpt there, too!)

Best wishes in your own adventures,
Alyssa

  1. I absolutely love the Warriors of Posiedon series and am very much looking forward to Alarics book later this year.

Not sure I can enter for a signed book as I am from the Uk but it would be fantastic to win one.

Still love the books just the same.

  3. I would LOVE to know what happened to the Mayans and their city of Gold. Or who built Stone Henge and why. It's really amazing that more info has not been discovered about either.

  4. I've always been interested in lost civilizations. Watched all kinds of specials on TV. Honestly it is the Atlanteans that drew me the strongest. I think it's from one special I watched where they showed what appeared to be roads on the ocean floor off the east coast.

  12. Thanks for a great post and giveaway! Hope the move went well :) (and everything arrived in one piece!)

I live under a rock and haven't had a chance to read this series. It sounds fantastic! I think I'd love to visit Atlantic as it is truly a "lost" city and other than the Mayan's is the most mysterious.

  13. Hi
I just wonder if Atlantis really existed of if it still exists but as they're more advanced they prefer to keep to themselves.
I'd love to be able to read more about this series.
    Thanks!

  22. I like the idea of visiting the world of King Arthur and Camelot.
I would love to find out if the knights were as chivalrous as the films make out.
They would have to have been very big men I think or mighty strong as wielding a sword while wearing armour would have been hard work.
The clothes were feminine and the men were men.
I wonder if the castles were as cold as they look and the rushes on the floor as smelly as they must have been at times.
    It intrigues me no end.
